The holiday season has arrived, bringing with it Spotify Wrapped 2025, a highly anticipated annual recap for music fans. Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny has reclaimed his title as the most-streamed artist globally, surpassing Taylor Swift. This marks the fourth time Bad Bunny has achieved this honor, having previously held the title for three consecutive years from 2020 to 2022.
On Wednesday, Spotify released its annual overview, showcasing the most popular songs, artists, albums, and podcasts from the past year. Bad Bunny led the global streaming charts with over 19.8 billion streams, followed by Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, Drake, and Billie Eilish. In the United States, the most-streamed artist list features Swift at the top, followed by Drake, Morgan Wallen, and Kendrick Lamar, with Bad Bunny in fifth place.
Bad Bunny's album "Debí Tirar Más Fotos" was the most-streamed album worldwide, followed by the soundtrack for "KPop Demon Hunters" and three other 2024 releases: Billie Eilish's "Hit Me Hard and Soft," SZA's "SOS Deluxe: LANA," and Sabrina Carpenter's "Short n' Sweet." In the U.S., Wallen's "I'm The Problem" took the top spot, followed by SZA, Bad Bunny, the "KPop Demon Hunters" soundtrack, and Lamar's "GNX."
The most-streamed song globally was the collaboration "Die with a Smile" by Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga, which garnered over 1.7 billion streams. Other top songs included Eilish's "Birds of a Feather," Mars' and Rosé's "APT," Alex Warren's "Ordinary," and Bad Bunny's "DtMF." In the U.S., the most-streamed song was Lamar and SZA's "Luther," followed by "Die with a Smile," "Ordinary," "Birds of a Feather," and "TV Off" by Lamar and Lefty Gunplay.
Spotify Wrapped 2025 introduced several new features. Among them are the "Top Albums" category, a fan leaderboard to track user standings in an artist's streams, and a "Listening Age" feature that compares a user's streaming habits to those of others in their age group. Additionally, the "Wrapped Party" feature allows users to compare their Wrapped results with friends and other Spotify users.
This year's Wrapped also reinstated features that were missing in 2024, such as "Top Genres" and a more detailed "Top Songs" section, which now shows how many times users streamed their top 100 tracks. A "Top Song Quiz" has also been added.
Spotify's Wrapped continues to highlight the dominance of major artists, who benefit from extensive exposure on the platform's influential playlists and dedicated fanbases. For independent artists, reaching a top spot on the global list requires billions of streams, reflecting the competitive nature of the streaming economy.
Streaming now accounts for 84% of the revenue generated by the music industry in the United States, according to the Recording Industry Association of America. Spotify remains the largest streaming platform, holding approximately 31% of the market share, with 713 million users and 281 million subscribers across more than 180 markets, a significant increase from the previous year.
