Two Mt. Hope High School senior sports standouts recently penned their National Letters of Intent to continue their athletic careers at the highest collegiate level as Thea Jackson inked with Northeastern University and Brian Abbruzzi signed with the University of Maine-Orono.

Jackson, who heads to Boston to join the women's track and field team, will depart as one of the most decorated female athletes in the three-decade plus history of MHHS.

Of choosing Northeastern, Jackson explained, "I talked to some other schools, and I just love the coach (Huskies women's track and field head coach Tramaine Shaw). I really connected with her.
