GREENSBORO, N.C. — A Rockingham County ambulance was involved in a car accident while driving southbound on US 29 in Greensboro on Dec. 2, according to the Rockingham County Government.
EMS was driving a non-emergent patient to a Greensboro hospital just after 2pm and did not have the lights or siren on.
The ambulance was driving south on US 29 when a car drove into the pathway of the ambulance, officials said.
The ambulance hit the car and stopped against the guardrail on the southbound shoulder. Airbags were deployed and the ambulance had some front-end damage, officials said. The ambulance is out of service while damages are assessed.
Four people total were on the ambulance, including two Rockingham County EMS employees, the patient and a Rockingham Community College student. No one
