SC has new elections director after ousting, arrest of former agency head

The South Carolina State Election Commission has chosen its new executive director after months of turmoil within the agency.

The SEC appointed Jenny Wooten as its next executive director after board members took a unanimous vote on Dec. 2. Wooten closed out a two-month period as interim director, which she came into after the ousting of former executive director Howard Knapp in September.
