FRISCO, Texas — The last time the Dallas Cowboys squared off against the Detroit Lions, it wasn't pretty. The latter thumped the former at AT&T Stadium as payback for a narrow Cowboys' victory in the prior meeting, one that was wrought with controversy — there being no love lost whatsoever between these two teams.
As the calendar turns to December, both are in a tough spot, seeing as their upcoming matchup on Thursday night has to be treated as if it's a playoff game, and by both clubs. The Cowboys have rattled off three consecutive wins after falling to a 3-5-1 record ahead of the bye week, putting themselves within striking distance of the division-leading Philadelphia Eagles — whom they defeated in Week 12.
