Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft could be enshrined in Canton together next summer.
The Patriots owner and legendary coach are among the five finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in the Coach, Contributor and Seniors category. Of the five, only three can be enshrined, and each must garner 80% of the committee’s vote.
Between Kraft and Belichick, ESPN’s Don Van Natta reports Hall of Fame voters have an early favorite.
“While sources with knowledge of the voting process told ESPN that Kraft’s fate with the 50 Hall voters is far from certain, they said Belichick, 73, is believed to be a favorite for induction,” Van Natta writes. “His NFL coaching record of 333-178 (including playoffs) is second all time only to Don Shula’s 347 victories.”
