TAYLORVILLE, Ill. (WAND) — Taylorville first responders will receive two new automated CPR systems thanks to a donation from one Taylorville family.
The Butterfield family is redirecting a donation from agronomy scholarships to the purchase of two LUCAS Chest Compression Systems. The systems will be given to the TMH Emergency Department and Taylorville Fire Department.
"When applications for the John H. Butterfield Agriscience and Nutrition scholarship declined, Ann Butterfield Kramer inqired how the funds could better serve the hospital and community," said Taylorville Memorial Foundation Director Katie Williams.
The LUCAS Chest Compression System can give continuous chest compressions during patient transport. They reduce provider fatigue while allowing first responders to stay seated
