There are no Cinderella teams left in the AHSAA football playoffs.
According to the final Alabama Sports Writers Association rankings at the end of the regular season, the lowest ranked team making this year’s finals is Class 7A No. 10 Opelika.
There are two 1 vs. 2 matchups. In all, three No. 1 teams reached their championship game.
Here are the rankings for each championship game.
Class 7A: No. 3 Thompson vs. No. 10 Opelika
Class 6A: No. 1 Clay-Chalkville vs. No. 2 Saraland
Class 5A: No. 2 Moody vs. No. 3 Vigor
Class 4A: No. 2 Jackson vs. No. 4 Anniston
Class 3A: No. 1 Mars Hill vs. No. 5 Bayside Academy
Class 2A: No. 2 Coosa Christian vs. No. 5 Lanett
Class 1A: No. 1 Wadley vs. No. 2 Maplesville
