BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - Gulf Coast Community Ministries is helping those in need as temperatures continue to drop.

The organization is collecting donations of coats, gloves, sleeping bags, and propane. They are also in need of volunteers for the upcoming event, Camping For Hope.

The event begins at 6 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, and will provide food and items to help people stay warm during the winter months.

“So they will have a place to sleep, they will have sleeping bags, they will have something warm to wear,” said Wayne Alewine, Gulf Coast Community Ministries Executive Director.

“It is normally 200-plus people that will show up on Saturday morning to visit with us and get nourishment, get fellowship, get prayer if they need it, and get some clothes and some camaraderie with our
