One of three people charged with the murder of a young Penticton couple more than three years ago had his trial on stolen property charges scheduled for next week at the Penticton Courthouse postponed.
Simon Bourbannais was set to go on trial on one count of possession of stolen property under $5,000 on Dec. 10 and 11.
However, that case has now been adjourned after Judge Lynett Jung reluctantly granted an adjournment after hearing the key witness in this case would be unable to testify next week as he will be on vacation in Mexico.
Bourbannais’ lawyer Sandra Mandanici told the court Monday via videoconference she will be filing an application under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms in relation to “undue delay”.
