Jadiann Thompson , a current evening anchor at WHDH-TV (7News) in Boston, will soon take outgoing anchor Kim Khazei's spot on the desk.
Weeks after the New England television news station announced Khazei's departure from the company , WHDH promoted Thompson to anchor the late-night newscasts in her place.
For the past nine years, Thompson has anchored WHDH's weekday newscasts at 4 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m., and 9 p.m., the station said in a statement. These days, she typically appears on screen with co-anchor Ryan Schulteis .
"Jadiann helped launch our 9PM news in 2017, and it quickly became one of the highest rated newscasts in Boston,” Linda Miele, vice president of news for WHDH-TV and WLVI, said in the company's statement.
