A member of the Steelers’ 2025 draft class could be making his NFL debut before the season ends.
The team announced Wednesday that it has opened the 21-day practice window for cornerback and kick returner Donte Kent, who was a Steelers’ seventh-round pick this year.
Kent was placed on injured reserve in late August before the season started after missing most of training camp with a foot/ankle injury. He has yet to appear in an NFL game, regular season or preseason.
Kent played college football at Central Michigan, where he recorded 53 total tackles and nine passes defensed in 2024. He also recorded 16 punt returns with a 13.7-yard average and one touchdown.
