Connor Hellebuyck’s time on the injured list is coming to an end, head coach Scott Arniel announced Wednesday, as the Winnipeg Jets goalie nears a return to the ice.
Although no timeline has been set for his comeback, Arniel is hopeful to see Hellebuyck between the pipes as soon as possible with Winnipeg struggling during his absence.
The Jets have lost four of the seven they’ve played without him and have conceded three or more goals in five of those games.
The 2012 fifth-round pick had arthroscopic knee surgery on Nov. 22 to address an injury that had been bothering him since training camp, and was expected to miss four to six weeks. He last played on Nov. 15 in a 4-3 win against the Calgary Flames.
