Wendie Green was hired to work at the Belle of Baton Rouge in September 1994, two weeks before Baton Rouge's first riverboat casino opened.

Over her 31 years at the casino, she has seen a number of changes — the riverboat has had three different names and multiple owners — and Green has held a variety of jobs. She has been a cocktail server, a trainer, a supervisor and worked in guest services. Now she is a senior slot attendant.

"I've pretty much done it all," she said.

But at 6 p.m. Saturday, Green will have her highest-profile job when she cuts the ribbon on the land-based Bally's Baton Rouge Casino and Hotel. The $141 million expansion is the biggest change since the casino opened.

"This is home for me," she said. "But now I've got a whole new home."
