A punch thrown in a popular bar area in Stroudsburg left the victim critically injured and the suspect facing a felony assault charge, according to investigators.
Stroud Area Regional police responded to the incident about 2:20 a.m. Oct. 4 in the borough’s 600 block of Main Street after an officer on patrol heard yelling.
Police said they found the victim, a 29-year-old man, on the ground, partially held up by two friends.
He was taken by ambulance to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono in East Stroudsburg and diagnosed with a severe brain injury, then flown by medical helicopter to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg in Bethlehem due to his critical condition, police said.
