COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Trader Joe’s said the new location will open this December.

The Trader Joe’s is set to open Friday, Dec. 12, at 275 Harbison Blvd., near Columbiana Centre Mall. There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony just before doors open at 9 a.m.

The store is 9,238 square feet and will be the second Trader Joe’s in Columbia. Trader Joe’s says it prides itself on hiring from the local community. The store said it hired more than 50 new crew members from surrounding areas and transferred in 20 others from nearby Trader Joe’s stores.

The store said it will donate 100% of unsold products that remain fit to enjoy to nonprofit, community-based organizations seven days a week.
