Former Phillies reliever reportedly signs with NPB's BayStars to replace Trevor Bauer

The Philadelphia Phillies are likely to lose a few key free agents this offseason, but so far through the first few days of December, none have departed the team for good.

However, one former Phillies reliever, Jose Ruiz, did make a free agent decision that has an impact on former Cy Young winner Trevor Bauer.

According to Phillies Tailgate , Ruiz is signing with the Yokohama DeNA BayStars, taking over Bauer's spot on the roster, for the upcoming 2026 season.
