BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Mississippi officials, and even one of the state’s most famous football names, are pushing back on new LSU head coach Lane Kiffin’s claim that Ole Miss fans tried to run him off the road on his way to the Oxford airport last weekend.
Kiffin made the allegation Monday during his introductory news conference at LSU.
“Call a cop that you know so they’ll help you,” Kiffin said. “Because you personally know them because you are leaving the state. And you gotta turn around, and people are screaming at you, you know, trying to run you off the road.”
Kiffin said the scene reflected both the passion of the Ole Miss fan base and the emotional intensity of his departure after six seasons.
