City hall is looking to tear down the former TD Bank building at Dundas and Lyle streets due to its disrepair – a move Old East Village leaders say can’t come soon enough.

In a report for Monday’s community and protective services committee meeting, city staff outline three properties they intend to demolish “as one of the last attempts” to bring neglected buildings into compliance.

The list includes two vacant homes – at 76 Commissioners Rd. E. and 120 Gideon Rd. in the south and west ends of the city – and the former bank at 687 Dundas St. that has been vacant since the TD branch closed in 2018 .
