One person is dead after a targeted shooting on Wednesday at the MGM National Harbor Hotel and Casino, a luxury resort in Oxon Hill, Maryland , near Washington, D.C .

An unidentified suspect opened fire Wednesday afternoon in the food court at MGM National Harbor just before noon. Immediately after, the gunman fled the establishment by car.
