The 2025-26 Michigan high school boys basketball season tipped off Tuesday night, despite Mother Nature’s best efforts, and several Muskegon-area squads picked up impressive wins to jumpstart their seasons.

Grand Haven 65, Coopersville 42

The Buccaneers opened the game on an 18-5 run and continued to pull away from the Broncos for a convincing non-conference win to open the 2025-26 season on Tuesday.

Will Plummer scored a game-high 21 points to lead Grand Haven, while Nolan Portenga added 20 points.

Brooks Hadden scored 11 points to pace Coopersville.

Jovaan Daniels led the Eagles with 20 points, while Rylan Scholma added 12 points.
