Iknow many Somalis from when I lived in Minneapolis. I had Somali co-workers and friends. They are not "garbage." Rather, they are a great asset to the United States, due to their strong immigrant drive towards education and business ownership. They are kind, as well. I am a pedestrian through choice, but my Somali co-workers would often insist on giving me rides home in bad weather, even though it was well out of their way
The current president of the United States demeaned his office and his country through his ugly, divisive words. Many Republicans also own his shame through their silence. I put Minnesota Reps. Emmer and Fischbach, who have many Somali citizens their districts, in that group of mute compliance.
