MANCHESTER, N.H. —

Officials have identified a man found dead after a fire broke out at a home in Boscawen on Monday night.

According to the New Hampshire State Fire Marshal's Office, the fire broke out on Gage Street just before 9:45 p.m.

Responding firefighters found a man in a bedroom on the second floor. He was taken out of the home and crews attempted lifesaving measures, officials said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man was later identified as Ronald Fowler, 66, of Boscawen. Officials said he died of smoke inhalation, and the manner of his death was pending.
