ICBC, the body responsible for issuing driver's licences in British Columbia, says it has cancelled all of its road tests in Fort St. John due to a criminal harassment investigation being conducted by RCMP.

In a statement to CBC News, the Crown corporation says the investigation involves "an individual not affiliated with ICBC," and did not clarify how or why the investigation would impact road tests.

"We recognize the significant impact this disruption may have and sincerely regret the inconvenience it will cause," the ICBC statement says.

"We are working diligently with police and local partners to resolve the situation as quickly as possible."
