CHESTER — The Philadelphia Union beat the holiday rush Wednesday, announcing the club-record signing of Ghanaian forward Ezekiel Alladoh in what is certain to be their biggest piece of offseason business.
The club announced the signing ahead of Wednesday’s end-of-season media availability as “the largest transfer fee in club history,” in a rare bit of braggadocio for a league that doesn’t publicly release transfer figures. The club confirmed the reported figure of $4.5 million.
Alladoh signed from Swedish top division IF Brommapojkarna. His contract is guaranteed through 2028, with club options for 2029 and 2030.
