Dabney picked up an offer from Michigan in February, but actually decided to commit to SMU in May. After taking official visits to Michigan, Penn State, Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech over the summer, he decommitted from the Mustangs and flipped his commitment to the Wolverines on June 27. Michigan linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary was the lead recruiter for Dabney.
