City council has approved the fleet program budget for 2026 to the tune of nearly $3 million dollars after a vote on Tuesday evening as part of ongoing budget discussions.

Fleet refers to all vehicles and heavy equipment used by the City of Timmins and its employees.

The fleet budget administrative report was presented by Melissa Anderson, the city’s manager of purchasing and fleet, along with director of finance Natalie Moore.

The exact cost is $2,953,000 plus HST for the purchases which the report states will “support ongoing maintenance activities and help sustain current service levels.”

Anderson explained that it was driven by the city’s asset management plan.

“All assets are reviewed from a mechanical perspective and an overall condition assessment is completed,” she said.
