Meghan Markle's father has been rushed to intensive care for emergency surgery, according to his son. ‌

Thomas Markle, 81, was admitted to hospital in the Philippines on Tuesday after falling seriously ill at his residence. The Duchess of Sussex's dad underwent a three-hour procedure on Thursday local time and remains in intensive care, his son has confirmed. ‌

The 81 year old is now facing another operation to remove a blood clot, Thomas Jr. revealed. ‌

Thomas Sr. and Meghan's bond deteriorated and they became estranged in 2018, following Meghan's marriage to Prince Harry.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Thomas Jr. said he raced his father to a nearby hospital in the Philippines where medics warned "his life was in imminent danger" after conducting several scans, reports
