Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott is set to unveil his new 10-year financial plan for the city.

The mayor said the plan was created with a goal to improve city services, invest in infrastructure and make Baltimore more competitive on taxes.

Scott wants to lower property taxes by 11 cents each year, while creating a progressive income tax increase on those earning $500K or more. He’s banking on a proposal currently before the Baltimore City Council that would tax vacant properties at a higher rate.

“This is about fiscal responsibility and not just about today or tomorrow, but for the future of Baltimore,” Scott said.
