The moment the SheKnows Teen Council settled around the table during one of our focus groups, the chaos began.

“Wait, you don’t know Mango Funk?” one girl gasped, half-laughing, half-scandalized. Another teen immediately jumped in to explain—only to be corrected by someone else across the room. Within seconds, the group was talking over each other, reenacting sounds, describing edits, and trying (and failing) to explain why a man screaming about mangoes had become the most important joke in their friend groups.

“It’s just so outrageous,” one teen finally said, wiping tears from laughing. “You never know what’s going to come next.” Another added that half the fun is that “adults would absolutely not get it.”
