DOLAN SPRINGS, AZ (AZFamily) — Authorities have arrested a man who they say is linked to a Thanksgiving Day murder in a rural northwestern Arizona community.
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies booked James Matthew Counts, 37, on one count of second-degree murder.
On Thanksgiving, around 9:45 p.m., deputies were called to a property on Round Island Road in Dolan Springs after receiving a call from a concerned neighbor. The 911 caller returned home and found a man, identified as 52-year-old Timothy Wayne Terry, lying on the ground injured.
Deputies arrived at the scene and found Terry had been shot at least once, showing “no signs of life.” Firefighters pronounced him dead at the scene.
