The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is warning consumers to immediately stop using certain DHGate hair dryers sold online due to a serious electrocution and shock hazard that could result in death or severe injury.
According to the safety notice published on Nov. 26, the affected hair dryers lack an integrated immersion protection device, violating federal safety regulations for hair dryers and presenting a substantial product hazard.
The warning applies to seven models sold on DHGate.com for between $10 and $100. These include the Designer Dryers Hair Anion Salon MuteHairdryer, HD17 Salon Hair Care Hairdryer, and several other models marketed for professional and travel use.
The dryers come in various colors and typically include multiple attachments. Consumers are encouraged
