Domestic gold and silver futures advanced on Wednesday (December 3), supported by firm global cues and a sharply weaker rupee that slipped past the 90-per-dollar mark for the first time.

Silver futures saw a stronger rise. The contract was trading at ₹1,79,393 per kg, up ₹2,807 or 1.59%. The metal touched a lifetime high of ₹1,80,748 in the session today. Gold futures were last trading at ₹1,28,026 per 10 grams, up ₹692 or 0.54% on MCX. The current price is about ₹4,268, or 3.2%, below its all-time peak of ₹1,32,294. Intraday, gold moved between ₹1,28,011 and ₹1,28,120, against a previous close of ₹1,27,334.
