The Bradley County Director of Schools, Linda Cash, Ph.D., says bedbugs were discovered in a classroom at Bradley Central High School this week.
Administrators closed the classroom, as well as another one out of precaution, but school is still scheduled to operate as normal in other rooms.
Although a professional exterminator found no signs of an infestation, parents of all students assigned to that classroom received notice of the incident to ensure nobody picked one up.
"We remain committed to ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our students and staff," Cash said in a statement to families.
