BEREA, Ohio — The Cleveland Browns on Wednesday opened quarterback Deshaun Watson’s 21-day window to return to the lineup, meaning his first game back could come Dec. 28 against the Steelers — or perhaps sooner.

Watson was set to practice for the first time this year Wednesday, making him eligible to be activated any time during the three-week window.

Coach Kevin Stefanski said Watson would be doing individual drills at first before possibly ramping up to working with the scout team.

“He’s been working so hard, rehabbing.
