SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (Edited News Release/KY3) - City Utilities (CU) is advancing to the next phases of its service line identification project, required under the EPA’s Revised Lead and Copper Rule.
Since launching the project in November 2024, customers have helped identify more than 52,000 customer-owned water service lines. Roughly 38,000 lines, however, remain unknown, and City Utilities is asking those customers to take action now.
Although City Utilities has no lead service lines in its system, federal regulations also require CU to document all privately owned service line materials in homes built before January 1, 1989.
