GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — With holiday deliveries piling up at doorsteps, thieves, better known as porch pirates, are stealing packages from homes across the country.
The Better Business Bureau and law enforcement said these thefts historically spike right around the holidays.
“Fraudsters, scammers, they follow a marketing promotional guide, just like you know we do in real marketing, sadly and this time of year, the hot item for them you know is packages," said Nakia Mills with the Better Business Bureau of Michigan.
This holiday season, millions of Americans will get gifts delivered to their doorstep, and some won’t make it inside.
