Sydney Sweeney shared her process on connecting with a character who makes morally questionable decisions.

“I think it’s important as an actor to find empathy for your character even if you don’t agree with all their choices,” Sweeney told Variety on Tuesday, December 2, while on the red carpet for the New York City premiere of her new movie, The Housemaid. “It’s complex but that’s where you find the vulnerability in that person.”

Sweeney stars in the new thriller, based on the 2022 Freida McFadden novel of the same name, which hits theaters Friday, December 19. Sweeny plays Millie Calloway, a live-in maid hired by a wealthy family. After spending time with her affluent employers, Millie learns their lives are not as picture perfect as they make it seem.
