Maryland Gov. Wes Moore’s office criticized the Trump administration’s decision to suspend Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits in Maryland and other Democratic-led states, calling it “reckless and cruel.”
The Trump administration said Tuesday that it will move to withhold SNAP benefits from recipients in most Democratic-controlled states starting next week unless those states provide information about those receiving the assistance.
