It’s finally happening, friends. After years of waiting for Matt Reeves to finish his script for The Batman Part II , not only is that script now done, but casting has begun. The first major new role in the film is about to be filled, and it’s a big one. Scarlett Johansson is in final negotiations to star in the 2027 Bat-sequel.

Nexus Point first reported the casting, which was soon followed by Deadline . Neither has any idea who Johansson is playing, but for an actress as hugely talented and bankable as Johansson to take it, it’s got to be something big. Poison Ivy, perhaps? Vicky Vale? A new character? We don’t know. It won’t be Catwoman, though, as that role is already being played by Zoe Kravitz, though rumor has it she won’t appear in this film.
