BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Rev. Luis Barrera Hernandez arrived in Vermont in 2024 with an assignment from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Burlington to hold Spanish-language masses for the hundreds of Hispanic farmworkers and their families who live in the Franklin County area.

Darren Perron spoke with Seven Days’ Lucy Tompkins, who reported on the story in this week’s issue.
