LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - An acre of vacant land off Delaware Avenue will soon be home to 32 Lexington families.
Developers, city leaders, and state stakeholders celebrated a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday morning for “The Railyard.” It’s a mixed-income and mixed-use infill community being built on a former industrial site on the east side of the city.
With the financial help of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government and Kentucky state programs, developer Will Hanraham said he’s excited to give back to the city he loves.
Hanraham secured grants and loans through LFUCG’s economic development and water quality divisions. City funds dedicated to addressing the housing shortage also helped reserve 12 of the 32 units for lower-income families.
