Gananoque town council meetings will shift from Tuesdays to Wednesday evenings beginning in 2026, a change aimed at improving scheduling around long weekends and ensuring there is a business day ahead of each meeting.
John Beddows said the move is intended to provide greater consistency for council business.
“As a way of adjusting for long weekends and to ensure that there is always a business day before the day of a council meeting, we are changing the day of council meetings in Gananoque to Wednesdays in 2026,” the mayor said in a statement, adding that residents are encouraged to attend.
There will be no changes to the remaining council meetings in 2025. Meetings will continue to be held on Tuesdays in council chambers at Town Hall at 5 p.m. The next scheduled meeting is set for Tues
