Every three days, someone is seriously hurt or killed on the 15 Freeway between Barstow and Las Vegas.
That’s according to a new coalition that sees a persistent threat to lives, commerce, air quality and quality of life in the vital, yet traffic-choked corridor.
The Coalition for Our Future on Wednesday, Dec. 3, launched a campaign to improve a 144-mile stretch of the 15 from Barstow to Henderson, Nevada.
There are just two San Bernardino County fire stations along that stretch, with first responders traveling up to 87 miles one way to respond to calls, according to the coalition, whose members include elected officials, businesses and labor groups with members in California and Nevada.
