LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) visited Schoo Middle School Wednesday morning, to recognize one of the 16 winners in their 2025 Name-A-Snowplow competition.
From nearly 4,500 entries, NDOT selected “Alice Scooper”, submitted by Ava Loadholt, a 6th grader at Schoo Middle School. They were awarded with a custom sign, as well as a miniature version of the snowplow.
Students in Ava’s class then got to tour the newly named snowplow, one of a fleet of more than 600 — with each of the winners trackable in real time on Nebraska 511.
“It’s really exciting, I’ve never really seen a snowplow...but I feel like having one that I named is pretty cool,” said Loadholt.
