It hasn’t exactly been one step forward, two steps back for the Edmonton Oilers this year.
But in their quest to make a third-straight run at the Stanley Cup Finals, things have gone nothing but sideways for a team that can’t seem to shake the .500 mark over the first two months of the season.
The good news is, the Oilers have been playing noticeably better the past two games since getting shellacked 8-3 on home ice by the Dallas Stars.
The bad news is, even at the best Edmonton has been able to show so far, it still only evened out in the standings after shutting out the Seattle Kraken 4-0, and then falling to the Minnesota Wild in a hard-fought 1-0 loss.
