SEATTLE — For the first time in a decade, the Seattle Seahawks shut out their opponent, blanking the Minnesota Vikings in a defensive slugfest at Lumen Field.

The Seahawks defense pressured Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy throughout the game.

“The Seahawks defense shows up every single week and they show out,” Terry Hollimon said. “The secondary guys are making plays back there… and they did that.”

Linebacker Ernest Jones stole the spotlight. Returning from injury, he recorded 12 tackles, two interceptions and a 90-yard pick-six. Hollimon declared, “Ernest Jones player of the game. It’s not even close.”

Minnesota’s defensive scheme focused on shutting down Seattle’s Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

“They said we’re going to let anybody else beat us except JSN,” Hollimon explained .
