In 1937, William Aberhart faced a recall push, as his riding had collected enough signatures to force a byelection. He had come up with the magic percentage number that these voters had achieved in collecting signatures. To save the premier the embarrassment of losing his seat, the Alberta Social Credit reversed the legislation. I do wonder if Danielle Smith will do the same thing since she is in the same position as William Aberhart.
