The threat of inclement weather has high school football teams throughout North Carolina altering this week's regional final itinerary.
Crest and Hickory's NCHSAA 5A West final matchup has been moved to Thursday evening, Dec. 4, in hopes of getting ahead of a winter weather system rolling into the foothills of North Carolina. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Greer, South Carolina, game time temperatures Thursday are forecast to be around 37 degrees with a slight chance of rain. There’s a chance for snow early Friday in the Hickory metro area, with precipitation pivoting to rain as the day drags along. Temperatures are forecast to be around 34 degrees at 7 p.m. Friday.
