MORGANTOWN -- This time a year ago, Rich Rodriguez wasn't yet West Virginia's football coach, as he was still with Jacksonville State.
Rodriguez was introduced as the Mountaineers' new coach on Dec. 12, meaning he missed the early signing period prior to the 2025 season.
That changed this season, as Rodriguez, who just completed his first season back at his alma mater, and his staff pieced together an early signing class of what they expect to be more than 40 signees.
The Grant Town native said Wednesday that those players are coming from 24 states.
Rodriguez didn't quite have a full sigh of relief because he knows there's still work to do coming off a 4-8 2025 campaign.
